Frameworks, cultural texts, and engagement models that center authorship and voice

Words Eclectic (WE) Publishing develops and publishes literary works, and develops practitioner resources and studio-based literacy frameworks that connect ELA learning to identity, culture, and real-world authorship.

Our offerings are designed for educators, schools, universities, cultural institutions, and organizations seeking depth, integrity, and long-term transformation.

Sugar Uncoated™ Publishing-Based Literacy Method (SUM)

An arts-centered, ELA-based literacy method that positions learners as authors and cultural producers through poetry, publishing, and real-world authorship.

This method is articulated through published texts and practitioner resources rather than scripted curriculum or lesson plans.

It is used by districts and organizations as:

  • a professional learning reference

  • a program adoption framework

  • a cited method in grants and proposals

  • a shared literacy philosophy

Practitioner Guide & Studio Designs (forthcoming)

Sugar Uncoated™ Publishing-Based Literacy: A Practitioner Guide

A district-ready professional text that defines the method and illustrates how it lives in practice.

The guide includes:

  • a clear definition of the method

  • core principles and commitments

  • studio design models (not curriculum)

  • examples of learner authorship and production

  • guidance for educator collaboration and local adaptation
